Finding Balance and Transformation in Mallorca

An Interview with Anna Hughes Cambry

By Claire Miller

14/8/24

Meet Anna Hughes Cambry, a Rapid Transformational Therapist (RTT) and Certified Hypnotherapist whose journey from free-spirited girl with a love for animals and travel, to dedicated healer and entrepreneur is nothing short of inspiring. Born in Canada to a British-Swedish family, Anna’s love for nature and well-being led her to pursue a career in Landscape Architecture. However, after years of working in the field, she felt the confines of a 9-5 office job didn’t align with her free spirit. She sought a lifestyle where she could make a direct impact on people's lives.

Anna’s personal experiences, including the trauma of birth complications and her son's severe brain injury, deeply influenced her path. Through her journey of healing, she discovered the transformative power of RTT and Hypnotherapy, which not only helped her recover but also ignited her passion to help others achieve holistic wellness.

Now residing in Mallorca, Anna is dedicated to guiding others toward self-discovery, healing, and living their best lives.

The Interview

Anna, your journey into the holistic health industry is fascinating. How did you get started?

“My journey into holistic health began with a personal need to find well-being that I hadn’t experienced in years. Living in Sweden, I felt the stress of our lifestyle was taking a toll on me, so I started exploring different healing modalities like Reiki and Yoga. However, it wasn’t until I came across Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT) that I found the profound healing I needed to recover from PTSD. This experience made me realise that RTT was the modality I was meant to work with to help others heal.”

What drives you in your work?

“The desire to create positive change in people's lives has always been a driving force for me. Having experienced significant illness for many years, I understand the struggles many people face. My purpose is to help individuals find their wholeness—reaching a state of calm, safety, and unconditional self-love. When people achieve this, they’re no longer running from themselves or feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges. Helping others reach that state and experience lasting, fulfilling relationships motivates me every day.”

Why did you choose Mallorca as your home and base for your business?

“Mallorca was a perfect fit for us, especially given my husband’s diverse roots and my own international background. The island’s international community, natural beauty, and outdoor lifestyle were very appealing. Moving here provided us with a fresh start and has significantly benefited my business. The entrepreneurial atmosphere and open-mindedness of the people here have been incredibly supportive of my work.”

Were there any challenges in moving to Mallorca?

“Like many others, we moved here to change our lifestyle, aiming to be more present and live in the moment. If we hadn’t approached the move with that mindset, it could have been much more challenging, especially with the bureaucratic aspects. However, it was absolutely worth it. We found ourselves in a soft, kind paradise where people take the time to talk, and beauty is everywhere.”

How has the move affected your work-life balance?

“The move has been transformative for our work-life balance. We consciously planned our lives to make space for family and reduce stress. My journey in self-growth and practicing being present has not only helped our family but also enhanced my work, especially in helping couples communicate with love and empathy. Moving abroad often brings challenges, but it also highlights personal and mutual growth within relationships, which is something I’m passionate about guiding others through.”

What do you love most about Mallorca?

“The diversity of the island is incredible! From mountains to beaches, rustic nature to vibrant city life—Mallorca has it all. The cultural richness, with its non-stop markets and festivals, is a refreshing change from Sweden. I love the after-school hangouts with other parents, beach outings, and hikes. Everything here is so accessible, which makes living on this island a true pleasure.”

Can you tell us about any new ventures or products you’re working on?

“Absolutely! I’m excited to launch my new program, “The New Life Program,” starting in late September. It’s designed for individuals who feel the urge to create something of their own but struggle with issues like imposter syndrome, anxiety, or procrastination. The program provides a safe space for participants to explore their authentic selves, grow self-belief, and transform perceived weaknesses into strengths. It’s all about thriving in every area of life. The program will run for 13 weeks, with weekly meetings online or potentially in person for local participants. There’s also always the option to work with me one-on-one, and I offer retreats that provide a personalised experience of self-care, hypnotherapy, and self-esteem boosting.”

Finally, what does the future hold for you?

“Right now, I primarily work online with clients from all over the world, for those who prefer an in-person experience I make house calls locally in Mallorca and will soon be offering sessions at Inspira Community in Pollença. I also have another project in the works, but it’s still top secret for now! The future is about expanding and deepening my work, continuing to help people find their true selves and live the lives they’ve always dreamed of.”
