Cecilia, what drew you to open this gallery of Balearic products in Mallorca, specifically in Eu Moll, despite being from Argentina?

What interested me most was the endless things to discover! Coming from Argentina, with a background in catering and tourism, I was already fascinated by the world of gastronomy, but Mallorca took that fascination to a whole new level. I initially started with wine and sommelier courses, then moved on to olive oil tastings, and gradually immersed myself in the island’s rich array of local products. As I explored different towns, fairs, and markets, I fell in love with the distinct flavors found in every corner of Mallorca. That’s how the idea for “Mallorca Gourmet” began to take shape. My aim has always been to collaborate with local producers and small businesses like mine. It’s time for people, both here and abroad, to recognize that Mallorca offers some truly exceptional products.

Why did you choose Eu Moll, Port de Pollença? Do you have any Mallorcan or Spanish heritage?

I moved to Mallorca from Argentina after studying tourism and gastronomy. When choosing where to go, Spain felt like the right fit—and Mallorca specifically won me over. My father’s roots are Andalusian, from Seville, while my mother’s side is Italian. When I arrived here 24 years ago, someone was waiting for me at the airport with a little sign, and my journey began from there. I started as a waitress, then moved into public relations, and over time I came to know the people, culture, and products of the island. Gastronomy and the countryside are my passions, what can I say? The food, the quality of life, and the tranquility of being by the sea—Puerto de Pollença captured my heart. I love watching the vibrant summer season and the serene winter. Now, I truly feel like an ambassador for Mallorca and proudly represent “Ses Illes.”

What products would you recommend for visitors to take back home—ones that are easy to carry and won’t cause issues with customs?

We have a wonderful range! I’d recommend our vacuum-packed almonds, which come roasted, caramelised, or chocolate-covered—absolutely delicious. We also offer herbal teas, salts from Ses Salines, herbal liqueurs, the island’s distinctive olive oil, and vacuum-packed Sobrassada. All are prepared specifically for easy transport. This winter, we’ll begin exporting “Mallorca Gourmet” packages through our website, so people can order and enjoy a taste of Mallorca no matter where they are. In our store, you’ll also find ceramics, cloth bags with the iconic “tongue” print, soaps, and other unique gifts—perfect for taking a bit of the island with you.
